There are many different reasons why we read: for escapism, to stay informed, to get up to speed for a new project, to acquire a deeper or broader knowledge base. And there is a lot of context which defines what we read and when. Facets is a concept for a reading service that understands the nuances of our moods and changing needs. It uses algorithms and human connections to make smart recommendations for articles, long-form journalism and books. The system gets smarter as you use it but also allows you to view and fine-tune what it thinks it knows about you. You can also create custom facets based on projects or interests. Each of these Facets are continuously updated with new content that you can read, dismiss or save to read later. You can see who has promoted each item and browse through all of their promoted content.
